Now THOSE are aggressive Gills!!

Stalking their prey:

Moving in for the ‘kill’

No, those are not my images. I saw them here: [url=http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=011802:66ba0]http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=011802[/url:66ba0] on our local board. One of the ladies there is an incredible photographer. She gets some really interesting shots.

Don

Don,
These are awesome shots!!

Jeremy.

those are great pics alright. Thanks for sharing.
'My thoughts are that the bluegills have learned to follow the ducks much in the same manner that pigs will follow a person headed to the outhouse… kinda yucky but seems possible.

Pike bait! Kind of reminds me of that picture on a round through here a week or so ago of the guy holding a large salmon with Jaws right behind him. If this peaceful scene would have happened up here in MN there would have been a pike about to submarine with teeth barred. JGW

Some of those things are huge, look like some arent bluegills maybe redears?
Maybe that clutch will make my decoy spread this winter here in ARkansas.

Hmmm,

Makes me wonder about duckling scat.
Anyone knowledgeable in that area? I
guess it would be one fly that might
require a scent to be effective.G Hey
dude, looks like a duck took a poop in
your fly box… Yuck, smells like it too.
Nah, maybe I’ll pass on this one.G Nice
pictures though.G Warm regards, Jim

Isn’t it neat what one can do with PhotoShop??

Reminds me of the trout around my feet week before last at the Branson Fish-In. Any time I waded the flats, I would have anywhere from 20-50 trout clustered closely around my feet. Everytime I moved a foot and stirred up the bottom, the trout would swarm in to pick any scuds or whatever I had just dislodged. I don’t know how many times I had a decent sized trout just slam into my foot. Of course they appeared totally disinterested in anything I dangled in front of them.

parrotheadcrb,
I agree that some of those gills are huge, but I think they ARE gills.
Nice pix…thanks Don.
