I was driving down the road today, was trying to dial someone on my cell, some how rang Mike’s (Ohiotuber’s) cell. He’s down at the Outer Banks on vacation, ( enjoying himself I might add) so I start telling him about my miss dial, and I am off work riding down the road, and that my wife is at work. So Mike tells me I gotta go fishing and he wants a report when I get back. Little did he know how close to smallmouth water I was, so, whats a guy to do? Yep I had to go… After about 25 min. from the time we hung up I had landed 3 smallie’s on a black woolie bugger, dang I gotta miss dial Mike more often!!!
Grub;
Mis-dialing and getting Mike can be a a two way street! Who did the most talking? And, did he bribe you with peanut butter fudge?!
Hang up and fish! er, drive… :D:D:D
Naw no bribes…lol I had other things I was thinking I might should be doing, but O’l Mike helped me decide it was better to go fishing… A nice evening of smallie’s on the Shenandoah, it’s always better to talk to a friend b-4 makeing decisions…
Grubb,
Not to be a butthead :lol: But, Please…Next time you find yourself driving down the highway and get the urge to make a call…Pull over…Only cause it and “you” are safer this way…! Sounds like a fun outting!
Hey billknepp this time i wasn’t driving talking on my cell…lol I went to a church back up a road with a small stream running behind it. Afterward I asked if i could fish it, ( I was hoping it had native brookies in it as alot do around here) I was told yes so later I drove back after everyone was gone, and gave it try. No brookies but landed 2 or 3 smallmouth,perch and some very large chubs, nice little Sunday evening of warm water fishing it turned out to be…
I went back to that church this Sunday and asked more questions afterwards and found out that the headwater further up does in fact hold brookies,( all private property) and that the name of the creek is Gooney Creek, lol (funny name) and it runs into the Shenandoah river a few miles below at a camp ground called Gooney creek campground. So I fished there again, got in my Jeep drove to find the campground, (interesting lady that owns that campground of whom I purchased a DR. Pepper from and got a little info) I fished just below the camp ground, and in the Shenendoah a little, over all I caught 20 some odds and end fish of smallmouth perch and chubs. later that eveing I went to another church over in Sperryvile and on the way home fished another little moutain stream that runs up along side the mountain with just a couple hits on top water… Ya know, That dang Tuber sure has started a mess with that phone call I made… lol …
