The Skykomish Sunrise. This is classic Northwest steelhead all the way. But its a killer on shad and skipjack. Not so shabby on white bass either. Plus is a pretty and an easy fly to tie. Give it a shot!

Thank you for recording a podcast of your Skykomish Sunrise fly! Since I just took a (trout) fishing trip to the Yakima, I became curious about this fly after hearing about it up there. I just downloaded it via iTunes’ podcast, and it looks great! It might be worth a try on the local warmwater species, too.
I appreciated seeing that you often use dubbing instead of chenille for these. I’ve been considering doing this more often. It’s encouraging to know that it works well for you.
