Nor-vise yes or no????

I have been tying for many years and am now developing hand arthritis problems. This leads me to the question would Norm’s Nor-vise be a good option to continue my tying?

I am using several vises but keep coming back to the Barracuda.

Any help would be appreciated…

Don’t know about the nor-vise, but will offer something to help with the hands. Dr Slick makes large gripped tools for tying … they’re wonderful! Those combined with a short bobbin for the thread (fits neatly in the hand), makes tying much more comfortable.
Someone else will be along shortly to answer your vise question.

You’ll only know if you try one out for yourself.

I know that Norm offers a 30 day money back guarantee on his Nor-Vise if you buy it from him. That way you can give it a good try to see if it helps with you situation. I have been tying on a Nor-Vise for about seven years and I wouldn’t trade it for any other vise on the market. I was using the Dyna King Baracuda when I bought my Nor-Vise and ended up selling the Baracuda since I wasn’t using it anymore.

yep… the dr slisk tools i have are great… i have hands the size of basketballs so some standard tools i have trouble holding… as for the vise, might try some dr slick tools before changing your vise unless ya just want a different vise…

Not everyone likes the Nor-Vise, but I like mine just fine and love some of the feathres it has the others don’t. Like spinning the vise to wrap things or build a thread base has never been so easy. Nothing that I know of will do dubbing like a Nor-Vise.

You should try one if you can, but it will still take a bit of use to really know since it takes a bit of getting use to it. It is just so different, but my Saltwater traveler with cam jaw is just sitting on the shelf behind me and I have not used it since I got this one at the start of this year.

As Joe mentioned, give one a try. It’s the only way you will know for sure.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.
