NH fishing info.

I am making plans for an August camping trip to the Pittsburg NH. and hope to get some fishing in the Conn river. I have never been fishing in this area. Any info on what to use or, where to fish etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks TonyC.

you might want to GOOGLE the following lodges in that area for info

Tall Timber Lodge

Lopstick Lodge

Ive stayed at both and they are both OK.

Tony,

I second the recommendation that you check out Lopstick Lodge’s website.

When you get up to Pittsburg be sure to stop by Lopstick as they have the best flyshop in the area.

I’ve known Lopstick’s owners. Lisa and Tim Savard for over 10 years. They are both licensed NH guides and are always willing share tips on what flys to use and which areas are fishing best.

Thus is one of my favorite places to fish. Be prepared to fish for highly pressured highly selective fish, especially in the trophy stretch. Lopstick has all the info you could need on thier site. The trout ponds in the area are a nice change of pace but you’ll need a boat or at least a float tube to fish them. There are also a lot of fish in the CT river south of the lakes. Good Luck!

Nice place to fish. I live about 2 hours south of here and get up to fish it about 10 times a year when business and family permits. I suggest utilizing a guide for your first day or half day.
Sean Smith guides up there and is a great guide:
