Things that make you go “Hmmm…”

I have to admit it - I love college football, and now that I’m in a city that has a pro football team, I’m starting to like that game too.

HOWEVER - neither will get in the way of a day on the water…

Oh, yeah…that’s also helped by the fact that I can DVR the games if need be.

GO HAWKS.

“yea…that’s also helped by the fact I can DVR the games if need be.”
That’s Cheatin!

Cheating?

NAH…more like “Effective Time management”!

The BIG challenge is to make sure that you don’t talk to anyone or accidentally watch sportcenter before you get a chance to watch it!

I think you should ALL be watching the game. There’s too many people at my fishing spot.

hey Tim - I think you said it best!

Since my new “fishery” is a tailwater - I suspect that the fishing is good year-round - so this fall and early winter when everyone is in wathcing the Colts or the Bengals, I’ll be horsing out the trout that have kept hidden all summer!

Yep. Try to sneak down to the river on Superbowl Sunday and there is everyone, waving a long rod. More trout than passes get caught that day.

Personally, I’m tired of seeing baseball highlights during the sports section on the news. They never show fishing highlights… HOWEVER, I am ready for some serious college and NFL football!

One thing I would change: playoff system for college ball. Let the current winners prove themselves, and not sit on the past AP and coaches totally biased laurels.

Diane,
That game against Oklahoma was one of the BEST games I have ever seen in forty yrs of watching college football! I screamed with delight when you guys ran that last fake play!
College football is the BEST!

Doug,
It was really exciting for the city afterwards, as you can guess. The months following were filled with appearances, autographs for fans, reruns of the game until we all turned blue (and orange). However, the coach is wise to point out that the Fiesta Bowl was last year’s game, and it’s vital to focus on what’s happening this year. It’s a pretty crazy schedule with couple Thursday games, couple late games… I’m not sure if I like ESPN dictating when college kids play. It’s a funny thing: I still think a college’s main priority is learning and not boasting ratings on cable. I’m looking forward to seeing what this year’s team will do.

DianeID,
Keeping it FUN is the main thing! It’s College NOT the Pros!
That’s why we love it! The guys are playing for the game only!
It must have been a Surreal experience with all the attention!
I’m happy for you guys and I hope you have a great season!
