Here it is the 28th of December. Once again my thoughts turn to starting the new year off right. For the last 4 years that has consisted of fishing on the creek rather than sitting in front of the tube. The last few years I have had the pleasure of FAOL members’ company, those diehard individuals with a willingness to brave what can frequently be a difficult drive in often uncooperative weather. This is a survey to discover which faces I can expect to look for in 2006? The weather this week has been wet and hovering in the 40’s. Scuds, buggers, midges, egg patterns, pt’s have all managed to land some of the many big triploids that have been introduced in the last few weeks.
Dr. Bob, great to hear from you. It will be tough for me to miss out on the football but I have tevo now. Yea!!! Enjoy the time with the kids and think about the CWFI maybe the week before mothers day. Anytime you get over this way let me know. I am retired now so time off is not much of a problem, unless I’m filling in at the new local fly shop in Ephrata (The Desert Fly Angler)
Retirement!! A fly fisherman’s Dream!! I hope to make it to retirement in about 5 years or so. Congradualtions!!
I will pencil in the Fish In for May 5-7. Hopefully I will not need to travel at that time. You know, us brewery supply people have important jobs keeping those breweries running. Traveling around and sampling product is a tough job but somebody has to do it.
Here’s hoping the fishing is good on New Years Day and you have a great time.
Lo Line,
I think I already let you know I can’t make it this year. The walk is just too tough for now. I do have a chiropractor working on it though, and things are looking a lot better. Even after just two visits. If I were going, I’d bring a 6 weight, just in case the wind is blowing. I’ll miss this year’s outing and I promise I’ll be thinking of you all. Tell everybody I said HI, and I’m sorry I can’t be with you. If for no other reason, the food (snacks) are terrific. I’ll pray for some sunshine. Maybe there will be a good hatch.
C,ya Soon,
Joe
Life, is the time He gave you to determine where you want to spend eternity.
Linemender just in case you will be there by Friday after noon. I will scream out hello as I pass the off ramp from I-90 on my way to Idaho for a week. Love to meet you some time in the future. I would love to swing through but I have the snowmobile with me this time and not even sure if we are taking any fishing gear other then fly tying stuff yet.
