Well I have been a memebr for a few years I just started taking part on the site. I was wondering if there were any memebers from the Rapid City South Dakota area ?
Sagellbean -
Welcome and greetings from SE Idaho.
Don’t know beans about South Dakota, but one of our BB members swears that there are NO trout in South Dakota, so I can’t imagine there being anyone else on the BB from your area. Of course, she goes there regularly from out of state to relax and look at water that has NO trout in it, for whatever reason.
Since you are from there, maybe you can give us the real scoop. What is a NO trout ? Kind of like a rainbow ?? or brown ?? or smallmouth bass ?? or largemouth ?? Won’t Betty be surprised when her secret gets out !!
John
Sagellbean, Welcome to the BB. We met in the chat room last night. You sure had a lot to offer so I hope we see more of you.
Thanks I had a good time with you and other memebers in the chat room last night. I hope to get more involved with the site . Seams like a good place to gather information to improve my fishing and make new freinds at the same time.
Hmm I am not sure whats she is talking about. as for trout we have plenty but with the drought over the past decade the quality has gone down. This year we recieved much need rain and the lakes have responded. Fall fishing should be good and next spring should produce some nice Browns and Rainbows with a few Brookies.
Welcome to the BB!
Doug
Hi Sagellbean,
Welcome to the best fly fishing/fly tying site in the Internet. Lots of friendly people and good information can be found here. Let us hear from you often. 8T
Sagellbean,
Welcome to the board. I can’t vouch for all the information that you’ll receive but I can for the folks hear at FAOL, a super bunch of people. Just like any family we run the gamut from completely normal like me to…well let’s just say a little bit off of normal, especially my fellow Ohioans.
Take care,
Mike
Sagellbean,
Greetings from Long Island, NY. Welcome aboard!!! This is the best bunch of people I’ve never met (yet). Have a blast.
Ken
Sagellbean,
We also met in the chatroom. This is a great site with lots of nice folks willing to share a ton of information. Welcome aboard.
Sagellbean,
Welcome aboard! As mentioned you’ll find good people and good info here.
Welcome Sage, just DON’T let HRH Betty know there are actually are trout there, we aren’t sure WHAT :pwould happen!!!:p:p
Welcome Sagellbean. Greetings from Kansas City.
If you go to the Search Members page and seach for “Rapid City” under location, you should find a few others. Looks like there are at least two who have posted in the last year. If you search for “SD” (it is capital sensitive, by the way) you will find more who will likely be in SD but didn’t put Rapid City as their location. Some of them may also be near you.
Hope that helps.

Too late. Sagell already spilled the beans !! Assuming that Betty sees this thread when she gets back from the land of NO trout.
John
Hey there Sage,
Welcome to FAOL. There are a few members here from the Rapid City area. One comes to mind, Elliott, his FAOL name eludes me at the moment. He’s the manager of the Rapid City Chilis right there at I90 and Exit #58, so if you’re hungry…
Mark
PS: His FAOL name is ilmbaba. And thanks for bustin the “no trout” myth.
oops I didn’t know it was suppose to be a secret someone should have told me. Sorry folks LOL
Thanks for all the welcomes. I plan on contributing as much as possible.
Betty is going to rap you smartly about the head and shoulders. You’ll love it.
If you can make it to the Michigan Fish-In next a.k.a. MIFI 2009, then you will get a chance to meet a bunch of us face to face. I can’t tell you how glad I am that I started going. I’ve already gotten time off approved for next year and room reservations made.
There ARE fish in the Au Sable River. I know. I’ve seen other people catch some…

Howdy Sage…Greetings from Sunny Southern Oregon
