These are pics of one of my new rods. Any best guess as to who might have made it are appreciated. 81/2ft 2tip. Flamed and I suspect impregnated as finish is pristine. With the tips side by side to me they look mirrored. The guy I bought them from bought this one new in 1948 but he cant remember who made it. Likes a DT5 and is one sweeeeet caster. Very light in hand.

Clyde, how about re-shooting the pictures? Too blurry.

JC, I can try but my camera aint that great

Macro mode on your cam right? use that and maybe a stand to keep it all still.

Appears to be a Union Hardware rod or a trade rod from that period like perhaps from South bend I don’t believe it’s impregnated but it is varnished and has probably been polished. Not an expensive rod but if it cast good for you and the ferrule fit is good you’ll enjoy, I’d try it with a 6 wt.

Thanks JC. For a while I thought it was the gin I was consumin. WOW, that was close.

clyde holmes …
Try a tripod and use the self-timer on your camera so you are not touching the camera a all.
It will make a world of difference in the sharpness of your images.
Also the Macro mode for close-ups.
Hope this helps,
