THEMS FIGHTIN WORDS BOY!!! No they tell me that you can use them in fly fishing. Not sure how yet, but they will let me know.
Wonder if these come in a #32?
Have to admit that the “bait” thing came to mind immediately. But far be it from me say anything like that about you.
What did occur to me is that this would be great for some folks who have trouble seeing the eye of the hook and threading tippet through it. Tie in a tippet to size with a loop at the working end, then just tie the fly over the top of the tippet as though it wasn’t there. Ready to go for loop to loop connection on the stream.
Another use would be for a stinger hook, or the single hook on the back end of an articulated fly.
Having said that, I’m curious how the connection demonstrated in the video would hold since it doesn’t seem to cinch down on itself at any point ?? Must have missed something.
I was thinking stinger also. And pre tying tippet was their suggestion.
I have crazy thoughts like, putting dubbing on the tippet then wrapping it…get finished fly AND tippet all in one…LOL
My thought (after the bait fishing thing. Sorry, Joni) was to arm the hooks before tying like the old flies with the gut attached to a blind eye hook. Wonder how big that little knobby-goody is?
Now see, you guys must BAIT FISH at some point. I don’t and didn’t see that at all:D
Like I said, I get a sample and will let you know. I am seeing it more for big streamers.
I don’t have problem tying flies, but the old arthritis in the hands does start to kick in after that first 20 or 30 fish…LOL (KIDDING)
I am thinking…“STINGERS” Yeah baby. I went fishing last Sat. FISH ON! then slack. I was using bunny leeches, so I am thinking they were grabbing rabbit, not hook.
Okay, so I tie (at the bench)my leeches with a tag off the back. Now I can attach a stinger if needed, or take it off without shortening the tag…
I AM ALWAYS THINKING>>>>ARGH!!!
