I thought I share on this forum what my son made for me yesterday.
Fish Dog evidently your son has a mill or a lathe or both…he did a very nice job
Wow…should we place orders now, or wait for the catalog?
really nice. You have a talented son.
Very nice.
I especially like the addition of a crosspiece on the clamp for added side to side stability.
Ed
That crosspiece on the clamp is a great addition. My Dyna King came with one (clamp looks remarkably like the one in the photo), and it’s rock solid. Your son is a very talented metal worker.
If you’re going to clamp a vise in place, it shouldn’t wiggle…
Wish I had the tools and time to make things like that from metal.
Buddy
Perfect Flyfish Dog. Did you help with the designs or is he a fly tier also and applied his skills to come up with theses?
Either way he added a very special touch to your hardware.
He is CNC Machinists work for a good company. He even does the work for is boss. Everything was done with EDM and CNC with bit programming. He said it wasnt to hard but I dont know what to think. If you are serious then I am sure he can make few more if you willing to pay him. He does not fish but is an mtbr expert rider in his class.
Buddy, you are right on that clamp but I cant figure out why DK made it 2 seperate piece. I like it better with allen bolts fastened. It makes sense. I sure wished I could had been a machinists instead of a industrial plumber and fitter.
The kid has some skillz for sure. Like you, I always wished I had more talent and machinery to make things of metal. Well done on all of his projects.

I have a DynaKing also and love the stablized c-clamp, especialliy on the white plastic tables we usually get. I beleive the two part clamp is so it is more portable. Two small pieces instead of one big one.

Nice machining work. I like the hook bowls.
Thanks! I will like them when I get back to tying smaller flies.
Flyfish Dog,
Was going to ask what the discs were.(thanks TyroneFly!) I had my suspicions, but didn’t have a size reference to go by in the photo. I was thinking that they might be hook/bead holders! How large are they btw? Very nice work if I say so myself!
Best regards, Dave S.
They are 2 1/2" Dia by 1" deep. He said it only took him a min to make once he programmed the CNC. More time polishing though.
if the top clamp is for sale i will take it…let me know
