Interesting point you made about why you need baby carp imitations for the San Juan right now. No end to the things there are to learn about this fly fishing thing !!
ALSO now I know why Shane ( Otto Dita ) is so keen to catch carp. He wants to mate them and take the babies out trout fishing !!

I’m wondering if Scott Sanchez’ double bunny pattern, in carp colors, would work. Precutting the bunny strips and doing away with the extras might make for a quick, and very durable, tie.
Also, Wapsi’s pine squirrel zonkers come in a crawdad orange which might be close enough for a carp fry color ?? I’ve got a super simple sculpin style streamer using pine squirrel zonker that you might be interested in ?? If you want more info on it, send me a PM.
