New Daylight Tying Light

There is a new Daylight…“Fly-Tyers Vise Light” on the market.

It looks quite nice.
Has anyone used it or have any first hand opinion?
It may be the only Daylight type one designed to attach to the shaft of the vise???/
I wonder what the wattage is?

I’ve seen it on the Daylight Co’s site and in the Feather-craft Christmas catalog.

ducksterman,

I have the Daylight desk top light and like it real well. I bought it one year ago this month and have not had any problems. It does not fit on the vise stem. I use to have one of those and decided there just was too much stuff on the vise stem and it all got in my way when tying. You can pick up the desktop model, which is a 13 watt light and is suppose to show everything in it’s true colors, from:

www.jsflyfishing.com for around $42.00.

Nice site Warren! I just ordered a McKenzie vise light. By far the best price I have seen. Thanks

Just glad to be of help to anyone.

Last Xmas my wife got me one of the 18w versions with the magnifier. I really like it. It has a very good level of illumination and the color balance is excellent.

One unexpected advantage is that it casts less shadow than my old 100w swing arm lamp. The large flat bulb shape has a large illuminated surface area, you get less of a shadow from your hands when tying in close compared to the point source of a 100w incandecant bulb.

ducksterman,

I just looked up the light on Feather-craft website. I like the idea of a cool light. My Dynaking light is of the halogen type which gets hot. I like the light it gives off, but don’t particularly care for the heat except on cold winter days where I can warm my hands while tying.

Well it seems to me this is really a neat looking set-up…but I’m afraid the wattage isn’t enough…here’s a link…this company last year had some nice sales on some nice lamps…different style though…and last year they didn’t have a fly fishing section…they’re learning…
