That’s a really nice rod, have you had a chance to cast / fish it yet?
Great looking work boarmountain, may I ask where you found the ferrule in the pic?
Cheers,

Awesome work Mike. I’m really envious of your craftsmanship. One day, you and I are going to meet up.
Thanks guys. I have made several on this taper before.Casts nice, perfect for the small creeks. The ferrules are from Golden Witch.

Another fine piece of work.
That rod has got to be an absolute kick to fish on a small stream !!
If and when I decide to do another bamboo rod, I might just invite myself over to Miles City for a day to get some tips !!

John,
Sure, no problem!
You know, since most of us are from the northwest, we should get together this summer and fish ,maybe in Yellowstone Park. I go several times a year.
I love that reel seat! Beautiful work. It is flawless! The invisible wraps are cool, but I miss the burgundy, or red, or orange, or green…LOL
THUMBS UP!
You know, I’m putting together a fishing rendezvous on Father’s Day. It may however, be quite a trek for some. Here are some of the details. This is mostly lake fishing, but there are several small streams close by. I’m not sure how they fish, but you could ask the grizzlies. It would be great if a bunch of us could tie up for a weekend.
Beautiful rod Mike.
Mike,
Wow, great rod. That reel seat is a work of art. Did you turn that yourself?
Beaver
Beautifull reel seat! Excellent work.

The reel seat is by Bob Venneri. I used to live close to him so I got to raid his seats and pick the real cool ones.
i love that tiger maple! do you ever turn your own reel seats?
I haven’t done any yet, but I am going to this year.

I, for one, would be delighted to get together for some fishing at YNP. I’ve only fished there a few times and would appreciate the opportunity to explore it further with someone more familiar with it.
No need to entice me by offering to let me cast one of your bamboo rods, but …
John
John,
Anytime you want to come over and cast a few rods, just LMK. I’ll let you know when I’m gonna be going to the park.
