I have a midge larva that I tied and now can’t remember how I did it. It’s made with flex floss, and the hook shows through and looks kind of cool, at least to me. My problem is that I can’t figure out how I put just one layer of flexfloss on it so the hook shows. I can’t start the thread at either end and wrap it to the other, or it covers the hook, nor can I trap the floss at one end and wrap back and forward, but I’m beginning to think that must have been what I did, and am just crazy that it is just one layer. Any ideas?
Maybe start thread at curve tie in floss then tie off, reattach thread at eye?
I don’t know what you did but I think that If you tie in the flexi floss at the rear of the hook and spiral the thread forward so that it is always under the edge of the floss it will not be visible without a very careful examination.
Here’s a cool step-by-step that produces a neat effect:

What a great technique!
Thanks
Thanks for all the tips, will try them.
Did you use mono thread by chance? That would make it simple.

Great idea, Jim, thanks.
Another idea - Take one of your originals and disassemble it in reverse to see how you did it the first time.

Awww, that’s too simple.
