Over the years I have lost contact with an old friend and fine fly tyer Tim England who was probably the first to do Bass Bugs that looked like casting plugs. We both used to write columns for FT back in the mid 80’s. I tried to mail him to the old address in Colorado but it was returned to me. Does anyone know if he is still around and could email me his address or email? Thanks,…Bob
Bob, like you, I’ve lost touch with Tim England, but still remember his awesome skills with deer hair. And yeah, I still remember when you both wrote for FT when it looked like a newspaper.
I attended a two day tying class by Tim England many years ago. He is the master of deer hair bass bugs.
We stayed at the same hotel and I learned he was a EMT Fireman out of Fort Collins, CO. I have misplaced his telephone number however, if his address is changed, the number is obsolete.
Perhaps the Fort Collins, CO, FD would have his new contact information?
Regards,
FK
Searching WhitePages.com for Tim England in Fort Collins, CO turns up a phone number but no street address. I don’t know if it’s the Tim you’re looking for…
Remember this?
“Can you tie Bob Mead’s Pale Evening Dun?”
Great fly! Do you still tie it Bob?
Thanks, Alec

LOL. I had forgotten they used to use that in their ads!..lol. Haven’t tied one for years. That was back when much simpler realistic looking flies were for fishing, not just to purr over… Now it seems everything is for an Art show.
I see there are a few old timers out there that still remember this old timer’s scratchings… Thanks for that…
Tim amazed everyone with those flies back then.
I knew he had had an accident and was hurt pretty bad, I believe while fighting a fire.
I will try that phone number. Thanks Fred
