I’ve never done this before so I’m not sure what to buy…I don’t need anything fancy…
the rod end is 5/8" and the grip was 7"
Can someone give me some ideas???

Welcome,scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on rod building and go to the Build your own graphite rod and read how to install grips and reel seats.
That should get you started.
