Anyone know anything about these. Its an electric fly reel. Someone brought it into a local shop. No info with it to indicate origin. Reel has engraving indicating that it was made in France. The little window towards the bottom of the frame in the first image has a light in it.
I’m in favor of those reels. If they can get one handers on the river with a reasonable sense of success, then it’s all good. My uncle lost his lower right arm in a harvesting farm accident, but he never let it keep him from fishing. He was one of the best fishermen I ever met, and he never used his accident as an excuse. And, he used conventional equipment. Those reels are a great idea in my opinion.
Man. has miniaturization come of age! The last electric fishing rig I saw was on the front of a game department jon boat and involved two prongs stuck in the water about five feet apart. Did that some kinda bring ‘em up…You shoulda seen the beaver sh*ttin’ and gittin’.
Sounds fine, but I’d make sure I was wearing rubber boots when I used it.
