My new 6 wt idea . . .

I think I have a idea in mind for my new 6wt.

Blank: Scott A2
Reel Seat: REC RSLS with small fighting butt
Handle: Custom cork/burl combination
Guides: Smoked or black

The rod blank is matte black. I think I would have to name it Black Beauty or something like that since the seat, blank, guides would all be black. I may even use black thread for the guides or possibly use some color that’s subtle without CP . . . . I am going to go test cast a A2, I think it’ll be what I want but will confirm with a casting session. Scott does not make a 6wt A2 with a saltwater seat.

I built a 7wt on a Scott Alpha blank in 2001 and it’s still my goto 7 wt.

I like your idea on all black…I hope you will post pictures when it is done.

Sweet Sweet and more Sweet. Sounds like a very cool rod. I did one in all black with the exception of a chrome ( silver) thread in the butt wrap. Definately post some pics when it is done.

Wayne I am sorry I do not have pics. my camera is a good one the user is not that good. I am learning and when I can take a decent pic I will definately post it. In fact I am trying to get pics of all the rods I built to put on a web site. When that happens I will give yu the addy.
