My good deed for the year

Here’s a little bamboo I just finished up. It’s a 7’9" 4wt with classic twist orange/blk thread and a red agate.

I don’t know how I got rooked into doing the wrapping on this rod:lol:because I won’t be the one using it, or even get paid for doing it lol. It’s actually a Christmas gift for the brother of a friend of a friend. He contracted my friend to build the blank and somehow I ended up being the one wrapping it:mad:awe well, my good deed for the year is done so now at least someone will have a Merry Christmas this year:cool:

Someone out there should consider themselve’s very lucky. Another winner Steve.

I like the classic twist with the agate stripper. Looks good with the 'boo, too.

You’re trying to make us believe this is the only good deed you’ve done this year?? Horse hockey!! We know better than that!! This may be a good deed, it may be your latest, but certainly not your only!! Thank you for being an inspiration to each of us.

Trout Karma will follow you for the next year.

Eric

That’s a good looking job on the wraps, and one purty stick to go chase fishies with.

John

P.S. One big surprise on this thread - no oooohing and aaaahing by Betty about the DOWNLOCKING REEL SEAT.

Most obviously, Steve has very good taste!!

Betty,

Are you feeling OK?

I just find it difficult to type with slobber all over the keys. It’s a beauty!!

Bob got ya? Looks great. Out of curiosity, what type of finish did you use on the wraps?

John

Yep Bob swindled me into it:lol:

No finish on it in the pics. I’m sending it back to Bob so he can dip the entire rod in varnish before it goes out to the new owner.

Steve

Nicely done, Steve!

you sure those wraps will hold up through shipping w/out any varnish? I’ve knocked wraps loose lightly brushing one w/ my knuckle…

I do a coat of CP on them before I put them in plastic and that usually keeps them nice and tight:wink:
