Well with all of the wonderful help and information I have gotten from this wonderful site and the wonderful people here. I decided that the best thing for me to do is it show you in photos my progress this was yall can keep up with the wonderfull advice.

I can almost promise you that it will catch a fish…the ridiculous stuff is always the best.
I think that second one should be called the Green Leafed Tree Bass.
Looks like instead of tying in single goose biots for tails, legs, antenna or wrapping the hook for a body that a large portion of the quills has been palmered for that spiked effect ! Now have a new sea urchin pattern being considered from the inspiration ! Thanks,

I’ll secound or third the “have no idea fly”… Looks like it would work well for a hopper, good looking flys, keep on a tying…
the second one i used a green saddle feather that i wraped around the body thinking i was doing the wooly worm but then realzed it wasn’t what i thought.

Seriously, though, that’s no saddle hackle, they’re goose biots, meant to be used individually as tails, legs, or in some cases, combat horns and protective spikes…
Nice tie, man…I just need to find some lime green goose biots…
well the recipe for it is ( hope i do this right)
hook: #10 panfish hook or large dryfly hook #10 long shank your taste on eye up down streaght.
Thread: 2-0 thread black
Body: black thin chenille
Heckle: goose biot i’m useing pink in the pics

[li]start thread on hook at bend wrap to eye and back. trim tag
[/li][li]tie in goose biot and then chenille
[/li][li]wrape chenille building bulk to just to eye with from eye
[/li][li]wrap goose biot like a heckle to eye and secure well(drop of ca helps.)
[/li][li]build head and whip finish. and lacqure the head.

Fly’s look good, especially the thread heads. Time will help with the straggling material(at the hook eye). When i first started i would wrap the thread till i covered all the material, hence, a “crowded head”, eg. get to the water can’t tie the fly on(real bummer). Keep tying and Tight Lines.

Charlaine, nice progress. On the second fly, I think those are biots wrapped around the body, not a saddle feather. I like the effect.

some more i did yesterday. Once i sift through what i have and make a list and lable the bags of whats what i’ll beable to follow recipes better and start makeing main stream flies and get better. spend about 30 just working on my whip finish today when i home from a wonderful night with my partner.
While fisshing through my old threads i found thisone and wow i forgot all about it. it feels like ive bneen tying a heck of alot longer then i have been. thank you all.
