Have any of you seen this site?

you can sell your flies and make some extra cash…just wondering if any of you have tried this.
Interesting concept. Nothing takes the fun out of something I enjoy like doing it for money. It stops being fun and becomes, pardon my language, work. I tied flies for money once, hated it, never again. I prefer to give them away.

Yea I do agree about rather just just keep on swappin em…
I dont want to have to pay the taxes on em cuz I already pay enough …that just turns me off right there.
I like the idea. Nice concept to be able to buy home tied flies instead of from a tying house overseas.
I have to agree on REE’s thoughts. I tied custom orders for a number of years…and while I enjoyed the money and filling boxes for folks…it really made tying for myself feel like more of a chore than an enjoyment. Doubt I would do it again.
Unless maybe during retirement…on a certain little stream…in a shop of my own:^))
If ya’ tie for fun, and you turn that into work… Then what do ya’ do for fun… 'cuz now your tying is WORK!
I totally agree with Ron. I had the very same experience.

When you sell your flies, don’t forget to pay your federal excise tax. The Myflies site makes no mention of this.

I have to agree with the REE and others when it comes to tying flies for money. When you tie for cash, you have another job not a relaxing hobby. I tied flies for local stores when I started getting proficient at fly tying many years ago as a young teenager. The thrill of easy money changed rapidly to the point that I hated looking toward my fly tying table. After one season of tying, I decided that I would rather pick apples and mow lawns for my extra cash. 8T
I thought just occurred to me with the mention of taxes–sorry for the hijack
If one trades/barters, one must pay tax on the bartered items. How would this affect a fly swap? Even though the swap is for a dozen flies, cost of a dozen is between $12 and $24+, for a dozen tiers each. Do I have to declare?
I know a few trees that ensure I never have spare flies to sell…I just keep buying. It’s just my way of keeping the economy afloat.
