Winter is on it’s way. I don’t mind the snow, even a little cold.
I draw the line if I am de-icing every cast however[;)]
Wind…HATE IT
So those days I usually stay in and tie flies or building Furled leaders, but this year…ROD BUILDING:
I am working on a Glass rod with a little graphite built in to make it a little faster.
The reel seat I am going with is a small full well grip, and American Tackle Triangle Window seat:
The Blank is a beautiful light green made by T.L. Johnson rods. It is a 7’6" two piece 4/5.
I went with a Black and Orange Classic Twist thread capped with Black Silk.
Still waiting for the H & H snake guides to show up.
Beautiful color combination. Love the reel seat they are nice. You definately can’t go wrong with h&h snake guides. In my opinion probably the best out there. If I get a little time will send you some of those flies we talked about. Who made the blank?
Thanks Harley. Terry L. Johnson made the blank. I fell in love with the color though.
And with graphite wound in, in the butt section, this is a sweet action.
Oh man, I wanted to do a step by step. I put the white silk on last night at the ferrule (still waiting for the guides) and forgot to take a picture before adding the lacquer…NOW YOU CAN’T SEE THE WHITE SILK!
Just kidding, gonna take a few more coats of lacquer
Betty, I tried a bunch of different greens with one that was really nice. I was going to go with it, and even tried a section, but then I tried this orange and black and it gave it a whole new mean-ness to match the reel…and me:lol:
Plus it will look good with my hip waders…LOL:wink:
To make a long story short, on another forum, the subject came up as to WOMEN IN WADERS. I posted the old, woman in the middle of the river with hippers on and fly stuck in vest. When I say hippers…that was all on the lower end, but it was a back shot and a warm day…LOL
Anyway, the picture got 86ed:(
