My brother-in-law sent the below link to me today and I would like to share it with you good folks on FAOL. I know my DASH always needs improving and I think I’ll work on it some more today.
In fact I’ll start right now: “May each and every one of you on this board have a safe and blessed day.”
Many years ago, I sat and listened to Lou Holtz talk about “the dash” … and let tears run down my cheeks. Reading this today, reminded me of that talk, and the importance of “that dash”, and once again brought the tears. Thank you.
Bob,
Thanks so much for sharing. It’s not often I “bookmark” videos, but I bookmarked this one.
Two who have passed but remain sterling examples to me of HOW to “live the dash” are my Dad & “Oldman” Bob Dial. If I can be HALF the man each of them were, it would have been a very good life.
Thanks again for a reminder of what is truly important.
Mike
My brother-in-law, that sent the link to me, has changed my “DASH” more than anyone in this world ever has or ever will, so it really hit home when I received this from him. He’s got 20 years on me and is having some problems. I’m not looking forward to the near future as far as he is concerned, but we’ll deal with it just like we all do when unpleasant things come our way.
Thank you for the video. At a time when things are a little rough and the old Bob is starting to come back I needed that reminder, that wake up call if you will. I have to admit that when I watched that video I cried like a baby, but it brought me back to reality again. I thank you so much for that. In this world filled with hate, bigatry, discrimination and gimme, gimme, gimme I pray that folks can see past all that and learn to love their fellow man and realize that the greatest riches in the world are not money and physical possesions but friends and family and the love of their fellow man. Then the DASH is a very good one.
