My attempt at a little humor, Or Why I have a day job.

The last name is Denton, my only son earned his PhD from Miami University in
Oxford, Ohio this year. Some of my attempts of humor have been pretty lame, but
I stole the idea from a former client “Denton Mills” who made Dr. Denton’s,
footed pajamas. I came up with this and plan on framing it and presenting it to
my son at Christmas.

Uncle Jesse, It really is good that you have that day job, really!:wink:

no kidding

I agree, since we we now see what he wears at night. That wouldn’t even count as “business casual”.
Uncle Jesse should not have a night job.

Regards,
Ed

aw…it’s hilarious, really!!

It’s printed out, framed in cypress from palings that fell off the fence behind his Mamaw’s, who he was so close to as a child. He inherited his sense of humor from me, at least I think he did, otherwise we are quite different beast. I printed out a little card explaining the original source of the cartoon and where I got the wood. I will get it wrapped one day this week on the sly, my wife doesn’t know about it and I want it to surprise her also.

There’s still time to shop for full sized footed red Denton’s !

He is currently working (teaching graduate students) at USF in Tampa, don’t think he will need them this year, last year in SW Ohio, they would have been welcomed.

This might be the year Tampa gets to shovel something other than the heat & humidity out of the driveway. Seems last time it was back in the late 70’s. It’s already been in the low 30’s up there & the freezes usually are in the next few months; but then there’s always next year for red footed warmth !

The cartoon went over very well. I wrote out the history of the cartoon, as far as I knew it and the homemade frame on a piece of cardstock. He got a little misty eyed when he read the part about the frame wood coming from his late Mamaw. He admit he had been more emotional of late, I figure he has grown up.
