Mustad 34007 and 34011 almost gone

I should have paid better attention to Mustad’s changes.
Apparently they have stopped production on 34007 and 34011 hooks and many sellers are now either out or sell limited sizes. I use these extensively for large insect patterns (dragons and hoppers) and small poppers (using the 34011). Eventually I’ll have to change to something else, but for now I managed to find some at http://www.tackledirect.com/.

I have also found problems with 37187 bass bug hooks.

Coach,

What kind of problems are you having with the hooks?

Regards,
Scott

Sorry, badly stated on my part.
I use them all the time. The problem is they are becoming harder to find in all sizes. I use from size 10 to 2 and the smaller ones are scarce.
Best price for smaller sizes I have found is at http://www.johnnyspond.com/mustad--37187-hollow-point-hooks.html

The 34011 is replaced by the S74SNP-ZS. The 34007 is replaced by the S71SNP-ZS. Both of these Z steel hooks are supposedly more corrosion resistant than the older models.

From my understanding is that the stainless steel hooks are harder to dissolve in the fish mouth. The newer model hooks they replaced is corrosion resistant to a point but will rust much faster than stainless. All in franchise of not killing a fish in the process. I can live with that.
I have a lot of these hooks and dont use them much anymore. I be willing to sell them.

For the record, the 34007 is NOT discontinued. This is a very popular hook and you will not see it going away.

The 34011 is indeed discontinued. It was dropped around 2 years ago. Replacement for this hook as mentioned is the S74SZ-34011.

The S71SZ-34007 is a premium, needlepoint, micro-barb version of the 34007 for those looking for a jazzed up option.
