Another fly from VFS forum stalwart John Mundinger. Change color to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 125 #18
thread - Gudebrod 10/0 grey
shuck/wing - WIdow’s Web beige
abdomen - tying thread
thorax - peacock herl
hackle - grizzly (kinda)

Part 1

mash barb, start thread; tie in WW at point above point, fold and wrap part way down the bend

tie in peacock; wrap thorax, tie off/trim

pull all but a few WW fibers forward over the body; tie down, adjust loop size (as needed), trim

Part 2

tie in hackle, wrap, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim shuck (gap width past bend)

trim out hackle underneath (optional)
