Another SNP staple; swapped out the calftail throat with hackle.

hook - Mustad 9671 #6
thread - Uni 6/0 camel
underbody - non-tox .025
tail - calftail brown
rib - mylar tinsel gold
body - hare’s ear
throat - hen dyed yellow
wing - calftail yellow

Part 1

mash barb, wrap front 1/2 with non-tox; coat with Super Glue

start thread, clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of brown calftail; tie in/trim butts

tie in rib

dub thread, dub body

counter-wrap rib; tie off/trim

Part 2

prep hackle, trim tip and tie in

wrap hackle, sweeping fibers back

stroke hackle down/back and cover with thread to create throat

clean, stack, measure (tips to tail) a clump of calftail

tie in, trim (brush on a little Sally before cover ing with thread to help lock the wing in place), cover with thread, whip, SHHAN
