A pretty basic Hacklestacker pattern. Tied here as a March Brown; change colors/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #12
thread - UTC 140 tan
shuck/post/wing - Congo Hair dun
body - dubbing tan
hackle - grizzly dyed tan

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at mid-shank

fold over a hank of CH (loop to the front); tie in, thin out back end, wrap to bend and trim (gap width past bend)

dub thread/dub abdomen to mid-shank

tie in hackle at base of post

hook loop in the gallows

wrap hackle up (thorax width - leave a hook eye width at the front for wing tie-down) and down; tie off/trim

Part 2

dub thorax to 1 eye width back from the eye

stroke hackle fibers back/pull loop forward; tie down

fold wing back; tie off, whip, SHHAN

Nice tie. Good solution to visibility problem of hackle-stackers. Morrish patterns are often derivative, but his tweaks typically result in very effective patterns. Thanks, Scott!
