More pretty green thread

I decided to go with either the “elephant thread” or some old gudebrod silk thread, and in wrapping some test wraps I discovered that it is thicker than the normal “A” size I am used to. I am having difficulty pulling my loop through at the end, and wonder if it is going to look funny to have the bigger size. If I twist it, it’s going to get “fatter”, isn’t it?

Did you do a test wrap over a guide? If not, this will give you a better indication of final look. I have started using the 2lb diameter - 10 lb test braid for my loops. Stuff is tiny, super strong, and slick as can be - plus it doesn’t twist on itself when making the pull. I don’t think you will see appreciable size change on the thread unless you put a lot of twist in it.

WS - are you talking about some kind of braided mono? 2 lb size, 10 lb test? Can I get that at WM?

Not mono, but in the fish line section of WM. Power Pro brand probably the cheapest. All brands make it (Stren, Berkely, Spiderwire, etc).

The braid works great, shoe, thanks for the advice.
