Montana 2011

Part 1

Did a little fishing, did a little sightseeing, did a lot of birdwatching; got to help out Ben Deeble, from National Wildlife Federation, with his sage grouse studies down around Dillon, MT (no pics from the leks, though, my little point-and-shoot would have been useless). Here’s some photos:

Hatches, save for some midges, were few and far between; scuds and zebra midges saved the day although some bwos did come off on the Y-stone and I got 2 nice 'bows on emergers.

Many fine dogs were petted and licks well received; Sal was the best:

Dell, MT; second best apple pie I’ve ever had (wife’s still ranks #1) came from here:
