Montague Ferrule Substitue

I have three Montague cane fly rods that all have split ferrules. I would rather not pay $25.00 or more per ferrule for the original replacements. Are there any look-alike replacments currently being made?
Thanks,
Alan

There’s always ferrules on Ebay alangarbers, you could give that a try.

here are some that are listed on ebay that may help

Hope this helps they are reasonable for the amount. went to fishing and rod building and repair and then put in ferules.

It’s been a few years, but I was able to get some Montague ferrules from Rick’s Rods of Denver. I think I paid about $15 a set for them. The only other substitute I could find was the chrome plated brass ferrules you can get at Jann’s Netcraft or Hook and Hackle for about $4 a pair. Unfortunalty the brass ones don’t come in as many sizes and don’t have the same ‘step down’ as the monty’s. You might need to shim or turn down the bamboo to make them fit.

Here is a link to Rick’s Rods web site, he has a lot more stuff than what appears on the web page. It always worth a phone call to see what they really have in stock…

depending on what size you need I have some NOS Montague ferrules. $8.00 a set. Not all sizes and styles are available but I have some.

Cheffy,
I need three sets of 11/64th Montague long and three sets of 17/64th Montague long.
Please let me know if you have them.
Thanks,
Alan
