Did you use glue on the rabbit strips or not? Have fun casting those things once they are wet…

John,

Tear Mender on the back half, where the strip is wrapped on the braid; Super Glue on the front half where it’s wrapped on the hook shank. Here’s a nice video on construction

Borrowed one of my son’s old batting helmets for protection when I cast it. Sorry it took so long to reply; been out fishing.

Scott

Is the Tear Mender flexible enough so as not to compromise mobility?

duckster,

Flexible and, supposedly, waterproof; I plan on losing them to hordes of hungry salmon and leopard rainbows before I find out if it truly is waterproof (lol).

Scott

To each his own. You plan to lose yours to trout and salmon. I would lose mine to trees and rocks… <sigh>

Ed

Oh, I tied plenty of extras for rockfish and willow trout.

Scott

Just the helmet? I’d also bring the bat for protection from whatever the heck you haul in that is gonna take a bite of that.
Nice pattern.
