Missouri CDC Caddis SBS

A flatwater pattern of unknown origin (I’m assuming the name relates to the river, not the state); very similar in appearance/design to Sam Wike’s [b]Siddac[/b] so that may be the source. Change size/colors to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 305 #14
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
underbody (optional) - Mirage Flash opal
body - Micro Tubing tan
thorax - dubbing brownish olive
underunderwing - CDC tan
underwing - partridge
overwing - deer hair bleached
head - dubbing brown

Part 1

mash barb, start thread, tie in tubing, wrap to bend

tie in Mirage Flash, wrap to 1/2 mark; tie off/trim

wrap tubing forward; tie off/trim

dub thread/dub thorax to 3/4 mark

measure (gap width past bend) a pair of CDC tips; tie in/trim

Part 2

trim out tip of partridge; measure (even with CDC), tie in/trim

clean, stack, measure (tips even with CDC) a small clump of deer hair; tie in/trim, cover butts with thread
