Went to Minnesota a few weeks ago with my new bride (more on that when those pics come in ). Thought I’d share a few pics of our trip. We hit it just at the right time for the leaves to start changing
We were far enough north that the Father of Waters is still a child. Here’s the Mississippi River just south of Brainerd:
The weather could have been better. Seemed like if it wasn’t raining at any given time it was about to, but there were still a few fish to be had:
Last but not least, me and my new bride (who also flyfishes!! 8) )
We had a great trip. Hope you enjoy the pics!
Way to go Bluegill222!! Nice pictures! Sounds like a really nice trip too.
Oh, and congrats on the new wife too!
Is that sunfish a Pumpkinseed? That would be neat. I have this corny goal to catch all the types of sunfish in my area of NE (orange-spotted, redear, pumpkinseed, etc…). Maybe I should make a trip to Minnesota!
Congrats on the marriage. Best wishes for the future (both fishing and the marriage
Great pictures BG222. And congrats to you and your new wife.
Congrats to you and your wife, Tim. True love means sharing your best secret fishing locations–now be honest have you taken her to the best fishing spots in KS, yet? Best be getting on it.

<I’m sure Tim will post pics from the wedding too. And he should! It was really fun!!
When the door was opened, just as Margaurite was to come in, and Tim saw her …OMG! … I’ve never seem a smile like that! And he mouthed “Wow!”. The groomsmen wore blue dragonflies in their boutonnieres, and the Bride had a snow white hummingbird in her bouquet! At the reception they had crossed fly rods behind the head table!! Milk chocolate trout candies, and goldfish crackers on each table!! The remainder of the food, though non fish related was fantastic!! >
SKershaw-- yep, that’s a pumpkinseed alright. I have that same thing going about the sunfishes. They are each so unique, so I’m trying to catch and photograph each. Pumpkinseeds are fairly rare around here (though a lot of folks around here call longears pumpkinseeds) so it was really cool to get into them up there. The only one I’m missing for a local sunny slam isthe redbreast. The orangespots can be tricky as they are very small and, at least here, they likesmall out of theway waters.
Brad–
Not only have I taken her to them, she’s already outfished me in a couple. Now that fall is here, I’m looking forward to getting her into some white bass on the fly!
Betty–
No fair giving away all the details before I get the pics back!! I should have some posted by next week. Funny thing, I didn’t have time to take any myself, I was a little busy that day, so I’m forced to wait on the ones others took.
Everyone else–
Thank you so much!! We are looking forward to a long life full of love and fishes.
