With substantial help from a buddy, I caught new-to-me species #2 of the year, Chain Pickerel. Small one, but dang was it hard to catch! Picky buggers! Wouldn’t hit my stuff. My buddy had to force me to use his fly rod…they liked that!

…and new-to-me species #3, Knobfin Sculpin:

…new-to-me species #4, Largescale Stoneroller. I caught one really nice one. My buddy caught 2, one was a bruiser!

A nice river Largemouth, and feisty Smallmouth:

Didn’t keep count, but would guesstimate I caught @30 Rainbow Trout:

Nice fishing David! Have you run out of jigs yet? ![]()
I have a lot tied up…but still never have the right size or color.
Nice variety as usual Dave. Chain Pickerel were my favorite fish to pursue in South Jersey when I was growing up. They can be a real challenge to outsmart.

That day, they really wanted a white Pistol Pete fly, fished with long, fast strips. I didn’t have one.
I also caught some Green Sunfish and a Hybrid Sunfish…but didn’t take pics of them.
