May swap of the month

My theme for the swap of the month is dry flies tied with CdC.
I will ty olive duns in size 14. The dun is a newly hatched insect that lies flat on its belly. Therefore I will do a hackleless pattern, that floats on the tails, the body and the wings. The tails are hacklefibers, the rest is CdC. Feel free to include other materials like dubbing, hackles, whatever.
Rick Z has volunteered to host the swap for me.

Thanks all for having me!
Don’t think of difficult patterns, easy does it and remember less is more!

I’m in but, will have to find a pattern. I’m tying the CDC and Elk although it appears everyone ties it with deer hair.

A CDC Emerger that has worked for me in the past.

If you don’t own CdC and can’t obtain it, then surprise us with another delicate dry!

Still thinking of a pattern. I will announce ASAP.

Bob 9 your flies came in yesterday.

Dear hair is cool too, Bill, allthough Elk is easier to use!

I’m not sure it is easier but, I think I like the texture better than the deer. Elk seems to not roll as much. Funny all the patterns I found for CDC and Elk called for deer hair. I have some nice elk I may try. However, after our very bad winter, all the local pan fish are deep in the ponds and only seem to be taking dark/black wet flies.

Flies are done will be in the mail Tuesday. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. For all that served thank you!

Flies are in the mail this morning.
