Massive goldfish

All I can say is DANG!

That is really neat. I can’t imagine pulling something like that in.

somebody is pretty good eith their processing software. I believe this photo to be either altered or faked al together.

I believe it (maybe because I WANT to believe)! We’ve got a trio of jumbo koi in our office complex pond. They aren’t THAT big, but they are probably in the 10 lb range. I’d LOVE to catch a sizeable one like that!

I believe it too, we get Koi carp in the lower Waikato river that are way over 20lb. Some guys even hunt them with bow and arrow.
All the best.

A big ole carp.

I have an easy 1 pound goldfish in a tank here in the house. Started with three 26 cent feeders and two of them are large and absolutely beautiful.

I’ve got to go with Nighthawk on this one. Something about that picture just doesn’t look right to me. For one thing, a fish that was that large in relation to the angler would weight considerably more than 30 pounds. Looks like a clever fake to me. Just my 2% of a dollar. I’m sure others will disagree. 8T

That is cool

Thumbs–

It’s all about camera angles. The dude looks like he’s sitting in the water with his elbows braced on his knees so he can hold the fish out towards the camera. The camera is then positioned so that it is closer to the fish than the fish is to the fisherman. Classic magazine cover set-up. It’s a big fish, but not nearly as big as it looks in the picture. Once you get the hang of it, you can about triple the apparent size of the fish without it looking TOO obvious.

Fishermen and guys holding antlers do it all the time… It makes the trophy look bigger. BUT, my opinion is that it isn’t intentional on their part to deceive most of the time. What’s the point of the picture? To show off the FISH! So why not hold it out so the fish is the focal point, while they get a good shot of the fisherman in the background… The intent isn’t to “super size” the fish, but to show it off.

The same thing happens to a big deer, elk, or any other “trophy” that’s getting its pic taken. If I’m showing you a picture of me with my big whitetail, you already know what I look like… Let’s see the deer!
