Noob question, what distinguishes a clouser from regular? I have been researching patterns but do not notice the difference.
Clouser are usually tied wit a sparse clump of material in front of the eyes and then tied back of the eyes with a sparse clump of material tie on the bottom of the hook shank and left loose behind the eye or not tied in behind the eyes.
Think of bait fish flys that more represent a fish like this

Clousers are tied with barbell eyes. And the hair is not tied behind the eyes on top. That is their distinguishing characteristic.
The Goldfish Fly? How cool is that?
You could probably fish it in tandem with the Moosehead Fly…

I was planning on tying something simalar to this but more in a baitfish pattern/color. Is this “legal” (lol) for this month??
