Marabou Midge SBS

Not sure what the real name is; found it on SwittersB.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #18
thread - Gudebrod 10/0 black
rib - Sulky Holoshimmer red
abdomen - marabou black
hackle - grizzly
gills - packing foam
thorax - peacock herl

Part 1

mash barb, start thread, tie in rib, wrap halfway down bend

tie in marabou; twist and wrap to point above point, tie off/trim

spiral rib; tie off/trim

tie in hackle; take a couple wraps, tie off/trim

tie in peacock

tie in a strip (about 1/2 gap width) of foam

Part 2

twist peacock with thread, wrap thorax; tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim foam (debating whether to trim out underside of hackle)

Thanks Allen. I think some stereo equipment we bought was wrapped in it. I’m wondering if places like UPS, packaging stores or office supply stores would have it.

I have enough in a few diff. sizes, from tiny flies to larger trout flies.

I used to keep LOTS of it but tossed most out after a long time saving it. Ain’t that the way it goes…!! I have enough left though.
