hook - Dai Riki 070 #12
thread - UTC 8/0 tan
tail - partridge brown
rib - UTC brassie hot orange (ran out of red)
abdomen - dubbing cream
thorax - peacock herl
hackle - partridge brown

Part 1

mash barb, start thread; tie in rib and wrap to bend

strip off some partridge fibers, measure (gap width past bend); tie in/trim

dub thread/dub abdomen to 2/3 mark

wrap rib thru abdomen, helicopter end, cover with thread

tie in some peacock herl; twist together, wrap thorax (stop one eye width behind eye), tie off/trim

Part 2

prep partridge; tie in by tip

stroke partridge fibers back while wrapping, tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN

I thought surely with that name this fly was going to be a variation of a Boobie. Wrong … Hares Ear Soft Hackle, nice.
