It looks similar to a NearNuf Sculpin, just with wiskers. Very nice

Great looking pattern. Have you fished them yet?. With all that weight, they look like they would be tough to cast.

More like a cool cat, Jeff. Nicely done.

I think that is what I grew up calling a mud cat. You might want to wear your hardhat when casting those, at least if you cast like I do.

Belgian cast is the ticket…

I have fished a lot of variations on that and absolutely love the Sculpin helmets. I even tie some Articulated Alaska Mary Anns with Helmets and they are serious killers…

Yep, I agree, I havent tried to cast one yet. Even the small size sculpin head is 1/20 oz, which is way heavier than any dumbell I cast…

I like what you did there!
I had tied up some patterns earlier this fall to look like a catfish or bullhead, with the intention of sometime trying to fish them for Flathead Catfish. I used rubber for the whiskers. I didn’t have those Sculpin Helmets, so I used barbell eyes for weight and profile. The Sculpin Helmets look better, as far as having the nice wide head shape that catfish have.

I like that foxy one - is that mono loop a hook guard or a place to tie in a trailing fly?

Its a guard for helping prevent the rabbit fur tail from fouling the hook.

i would break out the spininng rod for those
