Bright and shiny; a neat, generic nymph that imitates nothing but suggests pretty much anything.

hook - Mustad 3399A #12
bead - gold
thread - Uni 8/0 hot orange
tail/shellback - pheasant tail
rib - copper wire small
abdomen - rainbow scud dubbing
thorax - Ice Dub golden brown
legs - Sexi-floss copper
hot-spot - tying thread

Part 1

Mash down barb, slide on bead; add a few wraps of non-tox wire and jam under the bead to keep it in place

start thread, tie in rib and wrap back to the bend

measure a clump of pheasant tail fibers for length (gap width) and tie in, but don’t trim (the butts will be the wing case)

dub thread, dub abdomen

tie in legs

dub thorax

Part 2

pull pheasant tail fibers over the top, tie down, trim; whip (add a few extra wraps to create the hot-spot), SHHAN, trim legs

Nice pattern! You really can’t beat that “X” leg pattern on nymphs. They can be very productive.
