Cricket/Beetle amalgamation (hence the name). Original tied with ungulate wing; I was in a petrochemical byproduct-friendly mood. Change colors to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #6
thread - UTC 140 tan
body/back/head - 2mm foam tan
wing - Congo Hair beige
thorax - dubbing hare’s ear/antron
legs - medium rubber golden stone
indicator - 2mm foam orange

Part 1

poke a hole in 2mm strip (gap width); slide on to hook

start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap back to bend; tie down foam

pull foam down, brush Super Glue on shank, move thread forward to create first segment

repeat

and again

Part 2

trim butt/cover with thread

pull shellback forward; tie down to hook eye

tie in CH; fold and tie back to body

dub thread/dub thorax; finish where you started

tie in legs

fold foam back to create head

tie in indicator

whip, SHHAN, trim wing (even with bend), head, legs
