Please help me in my search;
I have been trying to buy some orvis hackle flash in the black, and olive colors.
Orvis is not stocking it any more.
If you have some drop me a line, or if you know of a place that still has a couple of packages in the colors that I need, drop me a line.
I am looking to stock up!!!

Looks an awful lot like Disco yarn…found at Wal-Mart
Most of the yarns that I have found in the local walmart are under one inch long ( usaually 1/2 inch in length ).
The stuff that I am looking for, is one inch, or just a little longer.
It also has some very fine flash material in it.
Does this description corrispond to the stuff you located in walmart?
If so; do you have some, or a picture you can send me?

The flash doesn’t show up real well but take my word for it …it’s there…

The basic pattern that I use is leech;
Just wrap it up the hook shank, I tye them clouser style.
Great action, either swimming or standing still on the bottom of the river.

Indeed ,I was surprised just now when I read the label…sure didn’t seem like that much…guess I traded out more than I thought…looks like a big profit margin at the fly shops… :shock:

It’s just wound up the hook. A few with a tail and a few without. These are about 2" long, with small beadchain eyes.
Wally world here only has a couple of colors of the Disco yarn. The black/purple, gold, and I think the green.
I’ve wondered about maybe layering the dark over a lighter base to make a more fishy looking color. I could only get the one color at the time, so it is all I have. If you want some, PM me an address and I will send you a good chunk of it. I still have the better part of 57 yards! :lol:
