I have an old sport king model 150, montgomery wards fly reel and was curious as to when it may have been made. It is black and is only right hand retrieve with the spool held in place by a screw. Any info would be appreciated… Also have George Leonard Herter’s Book "Fly tying and Tackle Making " is there any value other then intrinsic… do not want to sell it as Have had it a long time last printing I believe was around 1950.

Can’t help you with the reel.
A used book store near me has a copy of that Herter’s book.
It’s in decent condition and I don’t know which editiion of it it is, but they are asking $12 for it. I’ll probably buy it the next time I’m in the shop, if someone doesn’t beat me too it. They had an old Jack Dennis book on western trout flies that I decided to buy instead of the Herter’s book on my last visit.
Gotta love those old fly tying books…they actually FISHED with those flies…
