I need a good video to show my class what fly fishing is all about. I’ve seen a few good ones but they are long and my students may not have that attention span. Thought it was worth asking in here. I teach high school special ed - mostly learning disabled kids.
I’m looking for a something online that I can pull up on a computer in class.
Have you thought about making a PP Presentation and adding clips from youtube? That way you can talk about aspects of fishing and show a relative clip.
I was looking for the one that a fly-fishing videographer had put together, about what fly-fishing is to him. It was a fantastic video, I’m sure somebody had posted it here on FAOL within the past year or so. Anyway, I didn’t quickly find it, so here are a few other ones you can check out to see if they fit for your purposes.http://vimeo.com/6743441
If you’re in an urban setting, that tends to host carp in it’s waters, where most people would ignore it as a fly fishing opportunity…you’ll love this one. To me, this says that fly fishing is available to everyone.
There is a great movie trailer for the fly fishing film, ‘Once In a Blue Moon’ about fly fishing in New Zealand. It’s on youtube, just search fly fishing videos. It’s about 5 minutes long, packed with scenery and big fish.
