I’m taking my wife and 3 kids out to Taneycomo in mid-October for a vacation and some fishing. My wife has let me go on several trips, and generally puts up with me, so I’d like to treat her to a half day guided flyfishing trip where she can get some instruction as well as catch some fish–without me or the kids around. Yep, serious alone time for mom.
Can anyone recommend a good guide down there that will work with her as a novice flyfisher and give her a terrific guided trip? I’ve only fished with Leonard down there, and he was great, but I think she needs to fish during the day. I don’t have any experience with any of the other guides down there.
Thanks!
I would use Lilley’s Landing. I have heard nothing but good things from people that have stayed with them.
We’re staying with them for sure. Reservations are already confirmed. Do they have guides through the lodge? I haven’t received a response to an e-mail I sent to them about guides.
I just got back from Lilley’s. Call them on the phone. They suggested to me that the next time I visit I should book a guide through them, so they do book guides.
I like Phil Lilley and am glad you’re staying there, but I would NOT use his guides for this! Call and book Carolyn Parker of River Run Outfitters. Trust me on this one.
Carolyn or Jeremy Hunt.
Taneycomonights. Leonard is a member of this site (or at least he used to be). Try giving him a call, google his site to get his contact info. If he can’t provide what you need, then he will know who can. Great guy!

Thanks for all of the recommendations. I like getting feedback, especially in this case where I want her experience to be as good as possible.
Ditto. Leonard (Nightangler) took care of me when we visited Branson.
