Rio classic apparently are being changed for next year and seem to be on sale as are the cortland peach 444. The classic seems to be the best deal if it is a decent line.
It’s a standard taper line, standard weight and excellent on moderate to slow action rods or what some folks may refer to as a traditional action. They are great on bamboo, fiberglass and moderate graphite.
I used it for years exclusively and had no complaints other than the color which I wasn’t too keen on and I found the coating a tad stiffer than what I would prefer, but that’s me.
It floats great and casts great on just about any rod except super fast rocket rods. If you don’t have a rocket, I don’t think you can go wrong with a Rio Classic.
We have found them to be excellent with all rods - fast, slow, and in between.
