For those of you that tie or use a Logan’s Hopper, just wondering what sizes you tie?

I guess that depends on what your fishing for and what the hoppers look like in your area when you use them. My favorite hook size for panfish is #10 which also works pretty good for bass as well.

I know there are variables but as new to tying as I am, it’s kind of hard for me to judge the size some of these patterns if they aren’t listed or mentioned.

I’m not a big hopper fisherman, but 8’s seem to be a popular size for hoppers. I generally use a size 8 for Letort Hoppers. There is a YouTube video of this fly that looks like maybe he uses a 6. Depends on how big the hoppers you see streamside are I guess. I don’t see too many myself.

I tie them in size 10-8. If you tie them in black, they become crickets!
